Just another drop ....

I received my last payslip on Tuesday - and they have left out my 5 days holidays I was supposed to get paid as I never took them.... trying to get in touch with my boss today but guess what - cannot get anywhere. Will phone team phone number in a bit!! I thought we had settled everything when we did the paperwork on my last day but HR informed me they were never told about those 5 days .... ???!?!!? Not saying anything about my old company but it's getting a bit annoying now!!!

And then, just to top everything off - DH phoned me from his shopping trip that there's something wrong with the car - his dad's car, which we were supposed to use for our weekend in Sheffield (as per MIL - anything could happen with our little Peugeot!!!). Great! Can we please just have a breather?!?!?!

DH just phoned again, and apparently the car should be ok to drive all the way to Sheffield and back. The whole shebang has resulted in an annoyed DH who has lost yet another afternoon of his week off which he wanted to use to clear the spare bedroom as we have visitors coming next weekend (some extended family - another thing MIL has kinda arranged (with our consent, I hasten to add - as they are currently on yet another holiday!!!) and I am away from Thursday 28th until Monday 2nd!! GACK!!!

No word on the work front yet, but then - I wouldn't know where to put it in my plan anyway ... studying, tidying, getting the admin stuff ready for the Wolves Affiliation Game on 1st October AND also battling a cold that is just lurking but doesn't want to come out (and that's since Friday last week!!!!)... :( Studying? Well.. I try my best, but my brain doesn't seem to do anything, and DH doesn't understand this situation... GRRRRR!!! I WANT A HOLIDAY!!!

Well.. trying to phone work again and then off to my 3rd part of studying for today.

Sorry you didn't get paid for the 5 days. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help when back at work next week.

Welcome to the BritBowl XXI house... Day 1

Well... Friday usually doesn't count for the FANS of BritBowl, but the helpers start much earlier. :) We left Edinburgh at 2pm, fully packed car with the BAFL Shop stuff we didn't sell at our home games and a poor Allan being slightly cramped on the single back seat. Weather to start with was ok - so no horrendous rain like last year!!! Had a fairly good drive down the A1 but when we arrived before Newcastle we had the annual problem with the bridge crossing!! Don't know why, but arriving at the bridge at 3:30pm just doesn't work. We were stuck for about 15 mins for no apparent reason!! :( And yes, we had the same problem last year. Once we got past the Angel of the North, the traffic was flowing again. There was a car with a nocked bonnet on the other side with a police car around, so I can only assume it's that "human curiosity/morbidity" that made the traffic slow down. Phew!!! Took me longer than I thought!!! :) Maybe I should leave the crafty bits out ... I am a slow scrapper after all (found that out at the Cyber Crop!!). But have to say I LOVE that LO. Used acetate with stazon white opaque (over photo), snowflake eyelets, snowflake button and snowflake vellum sticker. The prompt today suggested we cut a paper snowflake ... well, I had three attempts and am absolutely rubbish at it!! So I decided I try my luck with a quilled snowflake ... first time ever for me to do a snowflake and you can see the wonky result! LOL.

Still struggling with sleep deprivation from Superbowl on Sunday, but hey … maybe I’ll get finally to sleep BEFORE midnight. And since 11am this morning the “little secret” from the Adamsons is now not a secret anymore. WE ARE PREGNANT WITH TWINS!!!!  The IVF run in December was positive (typical, the one we thought won’t do anything and we’ll have to go down to London to get immune issues checked out), and we had our official 12 week scan today. Both Chip and Chap are doing fine, are moving about, have all limbs and noses and chins and heartbeats. And I’m feeling as if a big rock’s been removed from my shoulders … have been reading too many horror stories about twin pregnancies resulting in just one baby born or even losing both. Think with 5 years IVF in the bag we know far too much about the medical background and are more likely to worry about what COULD go wrong instead of “enjoying the pregnancy”.
