How to find new music … and some Dwarves…

Image
Mmmh… how do you add to your music file to listen to? We don’t listen to radio much – just because Miss Martian and Supergirl have their CDs in the car (which is a mix of kids music and some of our own favourites). So we don’t listen to the UK top ten or whatever … And we’ve not been on holiday where we would listen to much radio (for above reasons). BT (before Twins) we got good current songs while on holiday in the US.   So, for me, I'm trailing some fan videos on youtube for my fandoms …   And I’m getting gems like in this post here while doing this. This week I had a hunt again on youtube and found this one … never heard that song before. Also gives you great editing of The Hobbit movies so far, and it’s a great fan tribute to Fili and Kili and the strong bond between the brothers. And then this one, but we had the song “Hey Brother” already, as hubby did a search for Avicii Songs, after we heard it in the Lego Movie trailer. … and I have to say Kili grows on me … but

Ah well… been busy… :o

Ok, big apologies to Rinda that I haven’t updated the blog with a full info, and I totally forgot about the last photos anyway.   Things have been quite busy here and I didn’t post on the blog. Will try to rectify this though… maybe … hopefully …     Geesh, I really wonder sometimes where time is going… I seem to lose lots of it..

Today’s catch up…

Well… I promised 2 more photos   1. A sign welcoming people to your home town (or a nearby town) 2. A garden gnome 3. Birds on a wire 4. A group of tourists 5. A rack of post cards 6. An urban street scene 7. A rural landscape 8. A tattoo on a person (that might be a substitute needed… can’t just take a photo at the gym of strangers’ tattoos!!) 9. A bakery 10. A photo bomb (someone found lurking in the background of photo; the lurker may have intended to disrupt the picture or may be doing it unintentionally, but the background lurker is a surprise to the photographer) HAH! I searched through my photos and found an actual (not staged!!) photo bomb!! Gotta love the twins!! 11. A horn 12. A mascot 13. A sunrise Will have to try that tomorrow morning… with the current weather there might be nothing to see, but I will try my best… 14. A parade 15. A juggler 16. A sign in a language other than English 17. A lamp post 18. A water fall Waterfall in the Japanese Garden at Lauris

Still Scavenging ..

Doubt I’ll get everything done this round (or use the substitute for one instead of it counting as an extra). I’m down with sinusitis, and for next year I have to figure out a better way to have the “photos to take” list better at hand. Reminder on the phone per day maybe? Who knows … 1. A bakery While at home we’re not going to bakeries … and I don’t really count Gregg’s as bakery (and we don’t go there either). So this is a photo of the bakery inside Tesco (courtesy of hubby while I was resting up). Funnily enough… when visiting my family in Germany we’re frequently going to bakeries…   10. A photo bomb (someone found lurking in the background of photo; the lurker

Need some distraction…

Independence Vote for Scotland, we’ve voted … and while I made up my mind (was sitting on the fence until this week!), I’ve got a heavy feeling with all that. Either way the vote goes, there will be a blaming culture again… hope that there are not too man rifts with friends/families (not just mine). Ok… might ponder over that later. Let’s see how I can get some distraction that is not housework…   UPDATE FOR PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT Right… don’t think I’m doing too great this year … might have to use some of the “substitutions”… 1. A sign welcoming people to your home town (or a nearby town) (Damhead is just outside Edinburgh (not sure if actually part of Edinburgh) – taken after a quick toilet break near a field for both girls – had to turn off the motorway for that! ) 2. A garden gnome 3. Birds on a wire (we don’t have that many wires around for birds to sit in!) 4. A group of tourists 5. A rack of post cards 6. An urban street scene 7. A rural landscape 8. A tattoo on a p

First Day at Nursery

Image
(or: WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE???) Today was the first day at nursery(well… first hour, as they do staggered time to get the children used to the time without parents etc.). Both Supergirl and Miss Martian loved it, they’re both in different groups (Miss Martian in the Green Group, Supergirl in the Yellow Group) but have also time together. I was very surprised that they both chose to have snacks at different tables, so would say the “split” is probably a good idea to develop more individually. I was glad to hear that Miss Martian’s nursery teacher is also left handed, so she will be able to show her how to use scissors etc. with her left hand!!   Miss Martian was all in puddles after the 1 hour – she didn’t want to leave!!! Despite it not being our first choice nursery, it seems to be a nice one, and I think they will settle in nicely. Tomorrow we’re at nursery for 1.5 hours, and I think I will skip out for a bit to do some shopping (today I was shown the nursery and got all the

Finally getting around to post some photos for this year’s Scavenger Hunt! I think the only item on the list that might be very tricky for me is the sunrise … I’m quite the night owl!   1. A sign welcoming people to your home town (or a nearby town) 2. A garden gnome 3. Birds on a wire 4. A group of tourists 5. A rack of post cards 6. An urban street scene Alnwick 7. A rural landscape 8. A tattoo on a person 9. A bakery 10. A bus (not a car, truck, lorry, camper or RV) w
