Week of tidying…

Image
Hubby is off this week, and we’re tackling the house “a bit”. The twins are at the grandparents yesterday and today (2 nights instead of the usual 1 night), so we’ve tried to make some inroads in our new study. That room used to be our box room (and that’s literally that!) since we moved in, housed several things from American Football stuff over paperwork to hobby stuff from me and lego and boxes of comic books from hubby. You definitely could NOT step into it, and new stuff was just added to it in the front of the room. Which happened when we needed to empty our old study upstairs for the girls’ nursery at the beginning of the year. Now … I’m a bad scrapper given that I haven’t taken photos of the “before” situation, and I should have taken a photo yesterday evening of our “beginnings” to clear things, but that’s the situation now: Several things that lived in the hall is now back in the study, so it’s not as much space as I had earlier, but it’s CARPET we can see, we can walk

Ok… I’ve been travelling wide and far (LOL) to get some photos, have done some “cheating” as well… might change those photos IF I find another opportunity before September 21st. A BORDER Two different borders around Edinburgh – one up at the Mount with view towards the castle, the other one at the Flower Clock with an Olympic message. A TRAIN A PERSON DRESSED AS AN ANGEL OR AN ANGEL STATUE It’s quite interesting how FEW angel statues there are in the cemeteries I’ve been to in Edinburgh the last couple of weeks… this little beauty I finally found today after hubby suggested to try Dalry Cemetery – it was amidst thorn and trees … but I got it!! :D And hubby constantly texted me “DON’T BLINK!”  ( Dr Who Reference ). A FOUNTAIN “Fountain of Faces” (don’t even know if it’s called that) on the Royal Mile with one smiling and one sad mask. My main object for this, however, was Ross Fountain in Princes’ Street Gardens … unfortunately no water in it anymore… :(  A MAZ

Learn Something New Every Day 1

Image
(LSNED from now on) – another Class from Shimelle . I’m on the alumni list for it, signed up for the first time last year but with the girls being just 1 and a bit months old, 2-3 hourly feeds etc I didn’t even print/read the prompts. So this year I want at least to BLOG if not SCRAP for this class… A bit of a change from last year as far as I remember, but Shimelle said she’s going to keep it short, quick and sweet when it comes to the “scrapping” part of things. Suits me fine. So for today we have the following: My name is Kat and today is the first of September 2012. The last big adventure of my life would probably be my girls turning 1 (and their birth/them being in our lives). Every day with them is an adventure really, and I learn so much about them/me/us.

Well… not really “day 2” but prompt 2 anyway. Print Photos – I did print 200 prints worth due to special discount at Bonusprint. And I didn’t even print off all photos from August 2012, not to mention all photos since beginning of this year. I learned today: a) I’ve got too many photos – haven’t even weeded out the bad shots (blurry etc). b) I probably got at least 2 back ups of photos on my EHD – of the same photos. Really have to sort that out!! Now waiting for the photos to arrive – should give me some material for scrapping at least, specially as our September Crop is going to be a 10 hour long one (doubt I’ll stay the full 10 hours though). Oh – and tomorrow it’s the start of LSNED – not sure how that’s going to work, last year we got an e-mail from Shimelle how to prep your album etc, but this time nothing. I’m NOT prepared, not sure I’ll be able to do anything scrapping wise but  hope to be able to do some blogging about it at least (actually, I will try to blog about it

Cover to Cover Day 1

Doing some stupid thing maybe, given that Learn Something New Every Day (from hereon in LSNED) starts on September 1st, but I thought I get a bit inroads on the Cover to Cover class from Shimelle I signed up for, printed out but didn’t get further than reading prompt 4. The usual at the moment really. But this time it’s more about organising my scrapbooks than a layout class, and as usual Shimelle’s classes are not strictly time-restricted, I like doing them self-paced. So … what do we have? Shimelle asked how our albums/layouts are sorted at the moment. Well… they are as follows: 1 Album 12x12 with the odd layout – non-chronological 1 Album 12x12 EDINBURGH WOLVES – layouts chronologically 2002 – 2004 (I think, will have to double check) 1 Album 12x12 EDINBURGH WOLVES – planned for 2004 – 2006 or so, the odd layout done 1 Album 8x8 about our IVF – not chronological yet (not many LOs) 1 Album 8x8 about me – not chronological at all (very few LOs) The odd layouts in odd

Scavenger Hunt Update #2

Image
What do we have now? I got a couple of shots that are “just in case” (i.e. I might replace them at some point with better shots, but not right now). So here it goes … A HORSE (I suspect I won’t get a photo of a real horse unless we get to Almond Valley Farm – not sure if that’s going to happen the next couple of weeks) A CHURCH/MOSQUE/ OUTDOOR STAIRWAY   (saw them when I took a wrong turn at Newhaven Harbour!) A LIBRARY (pictures of the new library hub – I love it, the downstairs is all kids and games etc, upstairs is adults section with cooking books, thrillers etc) What’s missing then??? A TRAIN A BORDER A PERSON DRESSED AS AN ANGEL / AN ANGEL STATUE A FOUNTAIN A MAZE / LABYRINTH / TRAIL SOMEONE DANCING A BRIDE A SWING HANGING FROM A TREE (OR HAMMOCK) A PICTURE OF YOU STANDING WITH SOMETHING SYMBOLIZING YOUR NATION I  have the funny feeling I may  need to do the substitute thing, most likely for the Bride … the swing I probably can tweak myself somehow … 9 more photos
