...well, that's how I felt today. Have a nasty cold since last Monday with chesty cough and a stuffy nose. Left it for a week with normal stuff i.e. cough syrup, paracetamol etc. Had an appointment with my GP today as I still had the cold and felt like not getting anywhere ... and the cough is keeping me up most night. :( And I feared it would bring up my Asthma again.

And what does the doc say? It's not a chesty cough, it's actually my sinuses!!!! :o And symptoms worsen at nights because I am lying flat and the phlegm is getting into the throat. Now there you go!!! That'll explain why chesty cough syrup didn't help!!! Am on Sudafed now, in the hope it clears up that way. LOL.


Die erstaunliche Welt unseres Koerpers ... nun, das hab ich heute gefuehlt. Habe eine ekelige Erkaeltung seit letztem Montag, mit Husten und verstopfter Nase. Hab versucht, es letzte Woche mit Hustensaft und Paracetamol wegzubekommen. Hatte heute einen Termin mit meinem Doktor, weil ich immernoch die Erkaeltung hatte und mit den Standardmethoden nirgens hingekommen bin ... und weil der Husten mich den groessten Teil der Nacht wachhaelt :( Und ich hab Panik, dass es mein Asthma wieder hochbringt.

Und was hat der Arzt gesagt? Es ist kein Husten, es sind meine Nebenhoehlen!!! :o Und die Anzeichen sind nachts schlimmer, weil ich horizontal liege und der Schleim in meinen Hals runterlaeuft. Interessant!!! Das erklaert auch, warum Hustensaft nix gebracht hat!!! Ich nehme jetzt Sudafed und hoffe, dass das alles klaert. LOL

Welcome to the BritBowl XXI house... Day 1

Well... Friday usually doesn't count for the FANS of BritBowl, but the helpers start much earlier. :) We left Edinburgh at 2pm, fully packed car with the BAFL Shop stuff we didn't sell at our home games and a poor Allan being slightly cramped on the single back seat. Weather to start with was ok - so no horrendous rain like last year!!! Had a fairly good drive down the A1 but when we arrived before Newcastle we had the annual problem with the bridge crossing!! Don't know why, but arriving at the bridge at 3:30pm just doesn't work. We were stuck for about 15 mins for no apparent reason!! :( And yes, we had the same problem last year. Once we got past the Angel of the North, the traffic was flowing again. There was a car with a nocked bonnet on the other side with a police car around, so I can only assume it's that "human curiosity/morbidity" that made the traffic slow down. Phew!!! Took me longer than I thought!!! :) Maybe I should leave the crafty bits out ... I am a slow scrapper after all (found that out at the Cyber Crop!!). But have to say I LOVE that LO. Used acetate with stazon white opaque (over photo), snowflake eyelets, snowflake button and snowflake vellum sticker. The prompt today suggested we cut a paper snowflake ... well, I had three attempts and am absolutely rubbish at it!! So I decided I try my luck with a quilled snowflake ... first time ever for me to do a snowflake and you can see the wonky result! LOL.

Still struggling with sleep deprivation from Superbowl on Sunday, but hey … maybe I’ll get finally to sleep BEFORE midnight. And since 11am this morning the “little secret” from the Adamsons is now not a secret anymore. WE ARE PREGNANT WITH TWINS!!!!  The IVF run in December was positive (typical, the one we thought won’t do anything and we’ll have to go down to London to get immune issues checked out), and we had our official 12 week scan today. Both Chip and Chap are doing fine, are moving about, have all limbs and noses and chins and heartbeats. And I’m feeling as if a big rock’s been removed from my shoulders … have been reading too many horror stories about twin pregnancies resulting in just one baby born or even losing both. Think with 5 years IVF in the bag we know far too much about the medical background and are more likely to worry about what COULD go wrong instead of “enjoying the pregnancy”.
