1st Advent & St. Andrew's Day

Didn't really happen at our house today. I didn't have any of the Christmas Decos down from the loft - just not tuned in yet to Christmas, because of the late holiday in Florida I think.

Anyway, got up very early, had breakfast and then we drove to Jack Kane for 9.15am for the Junior Wolves training. It was -4 degrees when we left the house!!!

Stayed cool throughout the day, I believe the warmest it got was 2 degrees for a bit. :o

After Junior training we had the adult training ... we had 30 (!!!) rookies down with about 26 of our veterans. Was quite a good sight to see so many kitting up for the Wolves - let's see how many will stay on. :)

I've been over to Dobbies during training, hoping to get some of the Christmas coloured Brads from Dovecraft and the Big Bite for the crop, but they didn't have either. Still ended up buying some bird suet stuff & feeder and a new Poinsettia for me (in a nice red bowl with greenery).

Dinner was nice Haggis Neeps & Tatties - but not as you know them. :) I made the Haggis Neeps & Tatties Soup from New Covent Garden Co - we love that soup, and AP liked it very much as well.

Missed the whole Advent wreath lighting though ... really have to get the boxes down from the loft tomorrow.

Welcome to the BritBowl XXI house... Day 1

Well... Friday usually doesn't count for the FANS of BritBowl, but the helpers start much earlier. :) We left Edinburgh at 2pm, fully packed car with the BAFL Shop stuff we didn't sell at our home games and a poor Allan being slightly cramped on the single back seat. Weather to start with was ok - so no horrendous rain like last year!!! Had a fairly good drive down the A1 but when we arrived before Newcastle we had the annual problem with the bridge crossing!! Don't know why, but arriving at the bridge at 3:30pm just doesn't work. We were stuck for about 15 mins for no apparent reason!! :( And yes, we had the same problem last year. Once we got past the Angel of the North, the traffic was flowing again. There was a car with a nocked bonnet on the other side with a police car around, so I can only assume it's that "human curiosity/morbidity" that made the traffic slow down. Christmas Journal Entry #2

Phew!!! Took me longer than I thought!!! :) Maybe I should leave the crafty bits out ... I am a slow scrapper after all (found that out at the Cyber Crop!!). But have to say I LOVE that LO. Used acetate with stazon white opaque (over photo), snowflake eyelets, snowflake button and snowflake vellum sticker. The prompt today suggested we cut a paper snowflake ... well, I had three attempts and am absolutely rubbish at it!! So I decided I try my luck with a quilled snowflake ... first time ever for me to do a snowflake and you can see the wonky result! LOL.

… and we’re now TINY BABIES

In Mothercare clothing that is. Today’s visit from the Health Visitor showed that Megan is now 2.99kgs (6.9lbs), and Kara (the wee older sister who’s weight has us worried because she’s soo tiny in comparison to big little sister Megan) is now 2.57kgs (5.11lbs). Which is incidentally Megan’s birth weight. So, whenever I find the time, I’ll have to sort out our “Early Baby” size clothes (i.e. anything up to 5lbs). Didn’t last long, but I’m glad both are putting on the weight. We’re still on 3hrly feeds, but I think we’re getting used to that routine, and somehow I think mothers tend to cope with less sleep once the routine comes into force. I’ll take a nap after the next feed, mind. We still have to work on the breast feeding, but we’ll get there. Don’t think I’ll BFing 100%, but planning on bottle feed EBM during the night feeds (currently SMA during nights).
