Well... Friday usually doesn't count for the FANS of BritBowl, but the helpers start much earlier. :) We left Edinburgh at 2pm, fully packed car with the BAFL Shop stuff we didn't sell at our home games and a poor Allan being slightly cramped on the single back seat. Weather to start with was ok - so no horrendous rain like last year!!! Had a fairly good drive down the A1 but when we arrived before Newcastle we had the annual problem with the bridge crossing!! Don't know why, but arriving at the bridge at 3:30pm just doesn't work. We were stuck for about 15 mins for no apparent reason!! :( And yes, we had the same problem last year. Once we got past the Angel of the North, the traffic was flowing again. There was a car with a nocked bonnet on the other side with a police car around, so I can only assume it's that "human curiosity/morbidity" that made the traffic slow down. The rest of the trip went ok, we stopped at the Service Station before (?) Scotch
Phew!!! Took me longer than I thought!!! :) Maybe I should leave the crafty bits out ... I am a slow scrapper after all (found that out at the Cyber Crop!!). But have to say I LOVE that LO. Used acetate with stazon white opaque (over photo), snowflake eyelets, snowflake button and snowflake vellum sticker. The prompt today suggested we cut a paper snowflake ... well, I had three attempts and am absolutely rubbish at it!! So I decided I try my luck with a quilled snowflake ... first time ever for me to do a snowflake and you can see the wonky result! LOL.
In Mothercare clothing that is. Today’s visit from the Health Visitor showed that Megan is now 2.99kgs (6.9lbs), and Kara (the wee older sister who’s weight has us worried because she’s soo tiny in comparison to big little sister Megan) is now 2.57kgs (5.11lbs). Which is incidentally Megan’s birth weight. So, whenever I find the time, I’ll have to sort out our “Early Baby” size clothes (i.e. anything up to 5lbs). Didn’t last long, but I’m glad both are putting on the weight. We’re still on 3hrly feeds, but I think we’re getting used to that routine, and somehow I think mothers tend to cope with less sleep once the routine comes into force. I’ll take a nap after the next feed, mind. We still have to work on the breast feeding, but we’ll get there. Don’t think I’ll BFing 100%, but planning on bottle feed EBM during the night feeds (currently SMA during nights). The health visitor will be coming around at a feed next time and then, hopefully, we’ll get things started. Sorry that t
