Photo Scavenger Hunt 2013–Final Round up!!

 Here is my Final Round up for the Photo Scavenger Hunt 2013:

1. Open air market

(Market Stall outside Kew Station, London)


2. Theater for performing arts (not a movie theater)

(Edinburgh Festival Theatre)


3. City Hall, Capitol or other similar civic building

(Dumfries Council Buildings)

4. Airplane

(Our Virgin Flight plane to London)

5. A sunset
(opted for another picture than posted before, as this sunset is more stunning! It’s taken at Knockbrex House, Dumfries & Galloway, with view of the Bay)


6. Someone or something taking a nap
(there’s too much cuteness about, and still so many photos of the Hobbits falling asleep )


7. A sign that is intentionally or unintentionally funny

(Seeing it was Maple Pecan Ice cream, the note  “May contain other nuts” makes you really wonder…)


8. A tower
(Watch tower at St. Cuthbert’s graveyard, Edinburgh, defending against grave robbery)


9. A photo with someone or something that is clearly out of place or doesn't belong
(A traffic cone on top of a statue – really not that uncommon in Edinburgh!)


10. A bench that is outside
(A weathered bench outside in the court yard at the grandparents)


11. An animal in a zoo, aquarium, nature preserve, etc.

(King penguins at the Edinburgh Zoo Penguin Parade)


12. A cloud in the shape of something (please specify what you see)
(This cloud looked quite a bit like a platypus to me – the “bill” to the left, tail on the right, with the feet in underneath)


13. A fence
(Nice iron fence at Edinburgh Zoo)


14. A stained glass object or a mosaic
(Beautiful Stained glass windows at the Natural History Museum, London)


15. A fire truck or police car
(Police car on the Royal Mile during Festival Time)

16. A windmill
(The only non-converted Windmill close to us, St. Monan’s)

17. Candle(s)
(my favourite candles – Yankee Candle. Seen at our lunch stop at Moffat Woollen Mill)

18. Your local pub/bar, coffee house or tea shop
(Not really my “local” in that sense, as I don’t frequent pubs anymore. And since my “local” coffee bar “Chocolate Soup” has closed down about 2 years ago (?), I went for the nearest pub, just a 3 min walk away from us, “The Mid Yoken”)


19. A fisherman
(Couldn’t find the traditional “one man with fishing rod” photo for this, but we saw those people casting out nets at Brighouse Bay, Dumfries & Galloway)


20. A dinosaur
(T-Rex at the Dinosaur Exhibition at the Natural History Museum, London)

21. A photograph of you with an artistic tool or craft supply (you cannot substitute for this item)

(me trying my hand again on knitting… the German (Continental) way, aka “left handed knitting)

Well… I managed it all … apart form the substitute/bonus item. We were out yesterday in town, meeting up with hubby after Twins playgroup. And usually we have TONS of those guys wearing our national dress/outfit (otherwise known as “pipers”). But this time we didn’t see a single one! There was one with a guitarist and drummer who did a fairly nice pop/rock songs WITH pipes … but he just had black trousers on (not even trews!) and a black waist coat.

So no bonus item from me this year.

Big thanks to Rinda - I again had so much fun with your Scavenger hunt and I found lots of “unknown” areas in Edinburgh and Central Scotland because of it!

Might try to get my act together and offer a winter one (unless Rinda wants to do that?) – Anyone who’s got ideas for things to be photographed during winter??
