Ten things on the 10th

Image
And we’re back after a looooong break of “Ten on the 10th”! I don’t think Shimelle is still doing it officially – very busy girl – but I thought I’ll still try from time to time…   This time I thought I’m going for places I want to go (non-UK) while the twins are young (not necessarily in order of importance or possibility). 1) Orlando (that’s planned for the year before the girls go to primary school) 2) Chiemsee 3) Tegernsee 4) Rügen 5) Senftenberg (most likely next year for a couple of days when we’re visiting family) 6) Croatia (lots of nice places) 7) Lake Garda 8) Side , Turkey (my mum said it’s fab there for the girls) 9) Malta 10) Greece (again, lots of nice places) There are lots more place, like in Austria or Switzerland, which I haven’t really looked into much so far. If you have any suggestions for family holidays feel free to post!

Chocs & musings

Choccies Today's photo shows one of the chocs I am missing from my old home and cannot get here... fortunately there's my Mutsch who provides me with it from time to time - part of Xmas presents and duly eaten between Xmas and now. :) TA MUTSCH!! (LOL) Else ... been to the gym straight from work (planning on going every WORK day - not sure about weekends) for 45 - 60 mins. Currently still on 45 mins as the head cold virus is still troubling me. Still feel dizzy after working out on the cross trainer, but my blood tests came back "normal" ... well, in my eyes it can't be normal that I suddenly (since December) feel dizzy when doing the cross trainer. Have been fairly regularly to the gym since September and been there 3x60 mins per week... with 20 mins on the cross trainer (now only doing 15). Soooo... have appointment with the docs next Monday to talk about my results. Enjoyed watching "Eurosport" while gymming ... somehow miss the Winter Sports stuff -...

HOLIDAY BOOKED!!!

WAHEY! A trip to US again after a long break (and we used to go every year since I met DH in 1999, as far as I remember... ?! ). Going in October/November. We'll be staying here (DH and I prefer suited so we can make our own food instead of having to go out every evening/lunch time). And now we just have to look into getting tickets for "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween" (MNSSH) and "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party" (MVMCP) . :D Thinking about costume for the MNSSH (last year it was a more homemade Batgirl ;) )... we'll see what we can do. SOOOO glad we're able to go (and yes, I have booked the time off work already!), we really need the break and away from everything ... and going somewhere else than Germany ... and the Cruise last year was not long enough really.

Holiday Planning...

Now with the Wolves season over (we've dropped out of the race for the 2nd playoff spot with our loss yesterday) DH and I are getting more serious about holiday planning (DH is actually speaking to Royalties as we speak). Our plan was to fly in to New York and stay there for a couple of days (I've never been, but DH has), then hop over to Cleveland to visit friends and go to the (American) Football Hall of Fame in Canton - where we have been in 2005 but lil stupid here had formatted the CF card when she thought she switched the "format" of the photo (in my defense I only had the camera for about 2 weeks prior to our trip and and absolute rookie to digital photography) and then go down to Orlando for the rest of the holiday. When we checked hotel prices for NYC last week we quickly realised that we'd have to drop this part of our trip - 3 days in NYC was about the same price as 2 weeks in Orlando!!! Not sure if people are flocking to NYC for the election? Didn...

Reminiscing..

Quite funny, since we booked the cruise I am reminiscing about my holidays as a child, the differences since growing up and all that. :) And I think watching Rick Stein's Mediterranean Escapes just tickled the memories even more out. Since I can remember my family went camping... in tents. Austria, Spain, Hungary (at the Balaton) and the most vivid memories I have of camping in Funtana, south of Porec, then Yugoslavia (now Croatia). We must have been there a couple of years at the same camping ground. It was a FAB time (even my incident with jellyfish!), very good food and camping was just FUN!!! Amazing how you change when you get older. I believe it was when I was 12 when I started to stay in hotels ... with my sister and her boyfriend that time in Cala Ratjada, Mallorca. And I don't think I went back to camping abroad since then. Since I met Doug holidays were always in the US/Canada and the obligatory week in Germany. But now I am feeling like going back to camping or at...
