Conditioned Kids??? ;)

Right … ok … DH and I had the discussion that an average 2.5 year old has a vocabulary of about 200 words apparently. And we wondered if we should be worried that our girls have a fairly big portion of geekdom/fandom in their vocabulary (Doctor Who, Tardis, Dalek, Cyberman, Loki)… Not that we conditioned them or anything. And we haven’t even STARTED them on The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings yet…     Now … I think I can claim that I was a geeky child  … must have happened much later in life, in my teens and maybe even twens. While I believe Hubby ALWAYS was a geek in one way or the other.   As for the girls… ummm… they don’t WATCH much Doctor Who and only know Loki from some Youtube stuff. And yet they seem to soak everything up, can see even the “old” Doctor Who actors and identify them properly as Doctor Who! And then we visit my mum … she’s got a couple of Hundertwasser (Austrian painter) Calendar Pages framed (and I remember them from my childhood, they’ve just ...

Doctor Who is 50! ;)

Err… ok… the whole “weekly update” thing hasn’t panned out just yet, has it? But at least I’m posting more often than before, so that’s a step up. Right… yesterday was the 50th Birthday/Anniversary of Doctor Who. The whole household has followed the Birthday week programs etc, the Twins can identify all the Doctors, a Tardis (and yes, there are 2 in the Grassmarket and the Cowgate, i.e. on the way to hubby’s work – as pointed out by the girls), a Dalek. We’ve been clearing the garden a bit yesterday early afternoon (raking leaves and picking up firework leftovers from Bonfire/Guy Fawkes night (the sticks and packaging from the rockets once set off etc), then the girls had their nap and I went up the road to friends who had a Doctor Who marathon from 10am already. DH and the girls arrived an hour later and we stayed for 2 episodes with the Seventh Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) . We decided to let the girls stay up for the 50th Anniversary Episode, “The Day of the Doctor” , which proved to...

Only 4 of DH's Lego projects Not a very inspired photo today, and only taken with BIL's small digi point & shoot. DH has been stocking up on Lego over the last year and used the time off over Xmas to build some of them. ;) Had a bit of a rush today - first a longer lie in, then worked on a couple of e-mails and then we decided to go shopping... ended up a bit of a longer trip as everyone and his dog seemed to be out at McArthur Glen! I managed to get some clothes (including one pair of trousers for work) and also got some tape runner at the Papermill (plus the last purchase before the 100 projects challenge - a "Pay per box" with A4 card). Then a quick trip to Julian Graves (they still don't sell those cookies anymore DH is after! :( ) and Aldi (which looked like they didn't have any delivery today at all - hardly any fruit & veg in! Because of that we had to go to Lidl (still not all we wanted) and Tesco, and DH got fairly antsy because we wanted to b...

And now there are two! LOVE IT!!!

Interesting twist to the whole story! :) TWO Doctors! And the whole talk between the 2nd David Tennant and Donna.... BRILLIANT!!! DH actually watched a couple of minutes at Meadowbank (we had a TV for the inlaws to watch the Tennis women's final between the Williams' sisters) ... NASTY! So I wonder if he knew about the "healing" instead of regenerating?? Now we have a biiiig problem.... No new series until 2010!! And only 3 specials in 2009. And still sooo long to go before we see the Christmas Special. :( And if that wasn't enough ... our "bridging" TV program, "Torchwood" , is going into Production in August for series 3 ... now ... what to watch??? :o

Doctor Who... Regeneration????

OOOOOKKKKKK... they wouldn't ... would they? He's signed up for the 4 special episodes in 2009, and believe he's also signed for series 5? They better not be!! :( And the worst of all is ... we've got a blinking game on the 5th July with kick off at 4pm! AAAARRGGGHHH!!!
