Some more scavenging... and collapsible veins

Image
Blood test needed today (just to check things), and with the weather being DRY (high humidity and feeling as if thunder is about to hit soon, but DRY!) I decided to get some exercise and walk the 20 mins to the other medical practice.  Due to muggy weather my veins played up a bit and played "collapsible" hide & seek - my history with blood tests pre-Twins wasn't that great (rolling veins, lots of poking to get a vein by DOCTORS - nurses usually get them quickly), but as I don't need constant blood tests anymore since the girls were born the nurses usually got the veins in one go. Today we had 2 attempts (one on each arm) but a medical student (feel so bad for her!), and then the nurse went for my hand ... I'm not sore or anything, high pain threshold and being used to that anyway... ;)  Nice walk back, and I managed to get 2 more photos for the scavenger hunt.  A WINDOW Drumbrae Edinburgh Leisure Poolside Windows - not see-through due to refurb of ...

Sorry … rant!

Just back from the GP (well… have been preparing dinner since) and am just totally baffled really… and losing faith in the medical system here. :o First of all, appointment was at 4:30pm and I didn’t get seen until 5pm. Same happened on Monday at my dentist. So why do practices insist on giving you appointments if THEY cannot keep them? But BEWARE if YOU are not on time … a dark look is the minimum you get!!! At the dentist I was then told after 5 mins of checking fillings and gums that I should come back for another appointment where we do the X-Ray of my broken front tooth (which had a small chip in it again). Little me was thinking that would put me back about 2 weeks … but NO! The first appointment they gave me was 24th of MARCH!!!! What is WRONG in this picture???? But I digress … Today’s GP appointment was for my left wrist … painful for about 1.5 weeks now. With my own knowledge I ruled out broken bones or dislocations and it kinda came down to tendonitis (bare in mind t...

Sunny Monday

Well... more or less... it's changing quite fast, so I assume we've got strong winds outside (it definitely was stormy yesterday, both my dwarf rhodies are fallen over - really consider taking them out of the pots and plant them into the ground. :( Currently taking a break from doing some housework ... done the washing up, put on/empty the dishwasher and currently got the 2nd Wolves wash going. Also have done some ironing. The weather is still too cold to hang the washing outside I think, but it's still nice to see the sun out. Went to training yesterday and had a weird day, weather-wise. We woke up to about 1 inch of snow on the car plus slush on the street, but sun was shining and everything was ok. On our way to JKC the sky got really grey and suddenly we were in a small blizzard!! Got to JKC and the sun was shining and hardly any snow on the ground. During Junior training we had our 2nd small blizzard ... and during adult training the 3rd. :o DH was really worried ho...
