Learn Something New every Day (LSNED) 2013

Plans today were to bake a Lemon Courgette cake and to start on my Tardis Christmas Ornament (crochet) – alas, best laid plans etc…

Our household is riddled with the cold. Supergirl is over the worst I believe, but she has trouble with some nasty molars coming through as well. Miss Martian has a very bad cough and higher temps the last 2 nights. Hubby got the man flu (plus sinusitis), and me… well, I proudly said to my in-laws when they phoned that I’m probably the best out of us 4, as I had already battled with a very nasty sore throat (suspected tonsillitis) and cough.

However, today at around 2:30pm when the girls were upstairs sleeping and hubby was at his PC, I felt a little “snag” coming along in my plan … With me having sinusitis about once a year, I can tell in advance (well… couple of hours) when it appears…

And yes, I’ve got full blown sinusitis now with all the pain, runny nose etc. JOY!! Sad smile 

So my LSNED for today:

BEST LAID PLANS CAN EASILY BE “DESTROYED” … I only managed to draft my 2nd String Fantasy (American) Football team and watch one episode of “Touch” with hubby before heading to bed to read.

Things can only get better…

Phew!!! Took me longer than I thought!!! :) Maybe I should leave the crafty bits out ... I am a slow scrapper after all (found that out at the Cyber Crop!!). But have to say I LOVE that LO. Used acetate with stazon white opaque (over photo), snowflake eyelets, snowflake button and snowflake vellum sticker. The prompt today suggested we cut a paper snowflake ... well, I had three attempts and am absolutely rubbish at it!! So I decided I try my luck with a quilled snowflake ... first time ever for me to do a snowflake and you can see the wonky result! LOL.

 Here is my Final Round up for the Photo Scavenger Hunt 2013: 1. Open air market (Market Stall outside Kew Station, London) 2. Theater for performing arts (not a movie theater) ( Edinburgh Festival Theatre ) 3. City Hall, Capitol or other similar civic building (Dumfries Council Buildings) 4. Official!!!

Still struggling with sleep deprivation from Superbowl on Sunday, but hey … maybe I’ll get finally to sleep BEFORE midnight. And since 11am this morning the “little secret” from the Adamsons is now not a secret anymore. WE ARE PREGNANT WITH TWINS!!!!  The IVF run in December was positive (typical, the one we thought won’t do anything and we’ll have to go down to London to get immune issues checked out), and we had our official 12 week scan today. Both Chip and Chap are doing fine, are moving about, have all limbs and noses and chins and heartbeats. And I’m feeling as if a big rock’s been removed from my shoulders … have been reading too many horror stories about twin pregnancies resulting in just one baby born or even losing both. Think with 5 years IVF in the bag we know far too much about the medical background and are more likely to worry about what COULD go wrong instead of “enjoying the pregnancy”.
