Amazing!!

The watersports are really what I watch most during Summer Olympics. DH doesn't like the diving (anything which involves judges, effectively!!), but I like it. Synchronised diving is fascinating and just a precision thing!

And then the swimmers! Just seeing Michael Phelps raking in the medals... :D AMAZING.

Had an article in the "Metro" today about what he eats (just no fair... 3x the normal recommended calories ;) ), bits about his size (his "wingspan" is wider than he's tall - 2.08m (6ft 8in) to 1.93m (6ft 4in).

I showed DH the photo and he said that Michael looks like an Albatros taking off...


And then I remembered another swimmer, who actually got the nickname "Albatros" in the 80's, who got 3 gold medals in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics ... and got 2 Silver and 1 Bronze (6 Olympic Medals in total)...

And at 2.02 m (6ft 7in) and with a "wingspan" of 2.13m (6ft9in) probably the tallest swimmer I've seen so far!!

His name is Michael Gross, and he was born around my corner of Germany in Frankfurt!! :D




I wonder... with those arms... are you getting lost when they hug you??? :D

I too am enjoying seeing Phelps win gold after gold.

Interesting fact about wing span being greater than height!

Phew!!! Took me longer than I thought!!! :) Maybe I should leave the crafty bits out ... I am a slow scrapper after all (found that out at the Cyber Crop!!). But have to say I LOVE that LO. Used acetate with stazon white opaque (over photo), snowflake eyelets, snowflake button and snowflake vellum sticker. The prompt today suggested we cut a paper snowflake ... well, I had three attempts and am absolutely rubbish at it!! So I decided I try my luck with a quilled snowflake ... first time ever for me to do a snowflake and you can see the wonky result! LOL.

Official!!!

Still struggling with sleep deprivation from Superbowl on Sunday, but hey … maybe I’ll get finally to sleep BEFORE midnight. And since 11am this morning the “little secret” from the Adamsons is now not a secret anymore. WE ARE PREGNANT WITH TWINS!!!!  The IVF run in December was positive (typical, the one we thought won’t do anything and we’ll have to go down to London to get immune issues checked out), and we had our official 12 week scan today. Both Chip and Chap are doing fine, are moving about, have all limbs and noses and chins and heartbeats. And I’m feeling as if a big rock’s been removed from my shoulders … have been reading too many horror stories about twin pregnancies resulting in just one baby born or even losing both. Think with 5 years IVF in the bag we know far too much about the medical background and are more likely to worry about what COULD go wrong instead of “enjoying the pregnancy”.
